Radio Picture

Dit jaar lanceert het Picture Festival zijn radio! Pauline Rivière en David Le Simple, presentatoren van Radio Campus Brussel, nemen de microfoon.
Gepassioneerd door boeken, illustratie, gedrukte beelden en micro-publishing, gingen ze op zoek naar de kometen die de Brusselse illustratiescene rijk is en wilden ze het verhaal vertellen achter de tentoonstellingen van het festival. Ze kwamen met 4 podcastformaten om naar te luisteren voor, tijdens en na.

This year, the Picture Festival launches its radio! Pauline Rivière and David Le Simple, hosts of Radio Campus Brussels, are taking the microphone.
Passionate about books, illustration, printed images and micro-publishing, they went to meet the comets that dot the Brussels illustration scene and wanted to tell the story behind the festival’s exhibitions. They came up with 4 podcast formats to listen to before, during and after.

In navolging van de duo-tentoonstellingen van het Picture Festival zijn « duo’s » gesprekken tussen kunstenaars die hun werkmethoden en invloeden vergelijken en het verhaal vertellen van hoe een tentoonstelling tot stand is gekomen. 

To echo the Picture Festival’s pair exhibitions, « duos » are conversations between artists who compare their working methods and influences and tell the story of how an exhibition was created. 

Radio Picture ging op zoek naar de acteurs van de wemelende Brusselse beeld- en illustratiescène en hun bronnen van verwondering. 

Radio Picture went to meet the actors of the teeming Brussels image and illustration scene and their sources of wonder. 

De gast kiest een afbeelding: een kaart die hij heeft gekregen of gekocht, een afbeelding in een boek, enz. Hij vertelt ons over zijn ontmoeting met het beeld, wat het bij hem teweegbrengt, of het zijn manier van kijken naar beelden en de wereld heeft veranderd… En als het een ansichtkaart was, aan wie zou hij die dan sturen?

The guest chooses an image: a card he has received or bought, an image in a book, etc. He tells about his encounter with the image, what it provokes in him, whether it has changed his way of looking at images and the world.
